On Thursday, after a gloating celebration about signing the articles of impeachment by Speaker Pelosi, the Senate trial began against President Donald J Trump. For the first time in our nation’s history, a rushed, partisan impeachment has been sent over to the Senate. The Democrats forced this impeachment because they failed to beat the President in the 2016 election.
Despite these distractions, President Trump has been delivering for American workers. In fact, on the very day that his impeachment trial was set to begin, he signed the first stage of the China trade deal, and the Senate confirmed his historic United States-Mexico-Canada agreement.
These achievements are just the latest that this President has delivered when faced with unprecedented obstruction from the Democrats. Since he took office, President Trump and his administration’s policies have brought unemployment levels to historic lows, brought wage growth up in all areas of the country, and produced a stock market gain that has surpassed record levels on all indexes. He has also delivered historic tax reform while rolling back a record number of regulations that stifled growth.
The choice this November will be whether to side with Democrats who have failed to lead and instead spent millions and millions of tax dollars trying to undo the will of the American people or with the Republicans who have delivered for them. The Democrats only need to look to England and their latest conservative wave to see what happens when leaders decided to insert their views against the will of the people.
It is time for us to end this sham impeachment and get back to working for our citizens. The Democrats can choose to do this now, or I am confident that the voters will help them in November.
